Applicants that have submitted an application should continue to login and check the status of applications, and may still submit additional documentation as requested. Landlords may continue to register and update their profiles. Union County will issue notification through their web site, email, social media and this portal.

Due to the success of the Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP) and expenditure of allocated funds from the Treasury, the City of Newark announces that it has moved up its deadline for submitting applications from January 7, 2022 to December 10, 2021. As of December 10, 2021 at 6pm EST, the City of Newark ERAP portal will be closed and will no longer accept new applications. The portal will remain closed indefinitely to new applications until additional funds are allocated to the City of Newark.

Applicants that have already submitted an application will still have access to the portal and should continue to login and check the status of applications at apply.recovernj.org . Those applicants may also still submit additional documentation as requested. Applications will be reviewed on a first come first serve basis. Landlords may continue to register and update their profiles. The City of Newark ERAP Support Line will remain available through January 7, 2022 to review questions you may have for additional information requested on your application. Approved applications are expected to receive payment within three weeks of being noted as PAID. The City of Newark will issue notifications through their website, email, social media and this portal. The Bergen County Emergency Rental Assistance Program is open for applications from tenants whose household incomes are at or below 80% area median income (AMI). Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis while program funding is available. Landlords may register at any time.
